I would like to commiserate with you about the waistline, but I do have a theory about this.
Have you noticed practically everyone you see has that middle?
I believe it is because of the food in America. I think it is toxins presentin everything we eat, including preservatives.
Went to a restaurant called "Zoup" and asked if their soups have preservatives? Yes they do. Since then, I have hardly been able to find soup without preservatives.
Here is what I did in 2020 that actually worked.
I began drinking Amy MEYERS PaleoProtein shakes. These are AIP approved.
And I also ate salmon and tuna.
The middle fat finally came off and I was so thin that DD became alarmed!
I had to prove to myself that I could.
If I went back on this strict diet, I would also include more vegetables.
I believe celebrities and famous are coached in such a way that this is how they eat.
It couldn't be because everyone has automatic washers/dryers, microwaves, computers, TVs and fast food nowadays, would it? I remember hanging out clothes on a line almost every single day and bending over to pick them up from the laundry hamper, carrying them to the laundry room and bringing them back up and hanging them on the line, cooking from scratch and playing outside with my kids. Now I am a computer potato.

@Mom2Dogs wrote:@LTT1 Good luck! My husbands primary would not prescribe Xanax for him because of his age (84) he only wants a 30-60 day script to get over the hump of anxiety for quitting smoking!! He took it many years ago when he was going thru a health scare - and only took a few. He is not going to abuse the drug.
The doctor refuses and has given him two different scripts, both of which he cannot take - knocks him out and he can not function.
The ENT NP told him to find a new primary, ha, ha...she was not able to give him that type of drug. He is not sure if the anxiety issue is from stopping smoking OR the fact that his ears are plugged...he is going into the 3-4 week.
I did notice on his paper work that his BP was 150/79...which the top number is higher than normal....
That's a very high risk for a man his age to get Xanax for any reason. I can't even get it for dental fillings and I am deathly afraid of a dentist and root canals, I need to be put to sleep. But should the patient fall and sustain a hip fracture which could be, or would be, life-threatening, the doctor would be sued for prescribing it. I can't get 2 pills for a dental visit and I am nowhere near that age.

If that is an office BP for your husband, it just means he has white coat hypertension, not to worry but I would be more concerned about the high bottom number if it does not subside when he is home.

@LTT1 I'm healing every day. The injury and surgery on my foot could take a year or so to fully heal. I'm optimistic.

@Nonametoday Thank you and Yes it was from the doctors office. I understand the white coat theory but it is never that high, at home or at the doctor's office, he always runs on the low side.

That PB number is high for him...it is never that high, he generally runs on the low side. It's the anxiety he is feeling for quitting smoking and the feeling he has because of his plugged ears. It is just driving him batty.
The meds he was given (2 different ones) just make him very groggy. I messaged he doctor on Friday but never heard back, hopefully Monday. I am only guessing because both meds had the same effect....groggy....that anything to 'calm' a person has that side effect. Thanks for the feedback.

@Hilery Did the nurse say HOW the dry eye could have a negative effect on your ears?
I had a drippy nose for months, ended up with constant red, blood shot eyes and a ear that needed drained...that I understand, but I don't get the dry eye and plugged ears.

@Hilery wrote:@Mom2Dogs I was suffering from clogged ears similar to what you have described with your husband. Nasal spray did not help. Nurse said my eyes were dry and to start using "refresh" eye drops every morning and at bedtime. That recommendation cleared up my clogged ears. Hope this hint helps your husband.
When I was having trouble with clogged ears my PA suggested taking a Zyrtec (I take the Walmart brand) everyday. It totally worked. After a year I decided to stop taking it and my ears clogged up again. So now I am back on it forever, I think. It's an easy thing to try.
