I have a continual pop up from malwarebytes stating a malware has blocked a threat. I have run my malwarebytes and Norton scans. On the web site it tells me it is in quarantine. although I have chrome loaded on my computer I have never used it. I did uninstall anyway. the "malware detected" still keeps appearing. any help much appreciated !!!

Sorry, this isn't enough information for me to understand what is going on. It blocked a threat... does it say what threat? I don't know why you're connecting the threat to Chrome. If you could tell us the exact words that the alert use or include a screen shot of the message, that might be helpful.

Yeah, and where do you go, online, when it pops up or does it just pop up without having navigated anywhere on the internet?
What kind of antivirus and malware protection do you have and do you keep them current?

Is Malwarebytes telling you that the quarantined file/program is connected to Chrome?
Sometimes you can delete a program and still have some fragments and some parts of a file left behind from it, where the whole thing wasn't totally removed.
As the others have said, it would be helpful if you could give us some more information though, about the quarantined threat.
You can safely delete a quarantined threat/program from the quarantined section if it is indicating that the threat is there.
There should be some kind of option where you check off a box next to the malware program name, and then click on a "delete" option.
You never want to click on the malware program name itself though, as that will actually open up the program and the name of the program itself, and then you will actually have the activated malware infection in your computer again.

If it is telling you the file is in quarantine then you should click on the Quarantine tab and choose delete all. You can also manually delete the files in C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingMalwarebytes it might be slightly different depending on your Windows version.

Just a few days ago, I had a problem with Google trying to install files on my computer. I had deleted all Google files last week because it was adding programs I did not want - how Google got back in I do not know. Anyway, I ran Malwarebytes and it took care of most of my problem. I did go through all my files and applications and deleted anything with Google attached to it. I do not use their browser or search engine as they keep adding hidden programs on my computer without my knowledge. I don't know if this is part of your problem but if it just started this week or last week then look into deleting any Google files. Gail

Thank you! This is what I did and all is well.
