Apple's next product launch will be Oct 21 and they are expected to launch a new iPad. That means the price of the older models will go down or be on sale in many places. I would not buy an iPad until Apple makes their announcement.
QVC usually puts the iPad in a bundle set and charges quite a bit more than the Apple store does. You might want to check out the Apple store, which offers financing. At the very least, check the QVC prices against those of the Apple store before you purchase.

If they're launching a new IPad that might explain the aggravation they've caused for so many Ipad owners with their latest updates, maybe they think we're all going to rush out and buy the latest version.

I think that causing customers a lot of aggravation and mistrust with updates to their old products would be a pretty bad plan to get them to buy your newest product.

You got that right! But who knows what "they" were thinking.......whoever "they" are. I just hope they come up with a fix for the fix that was supposed to correct the first mess. Sorry but I'm just so ticked with it all right now! I'm missing all the enjoyment I WAS having using mine before all this IOS 8 business.

OP
If you live close to an Apple store go there and look at them you can ask all the questions you want and play around.
I don't think you need more than 16g because you can move stuff on and off your ipad. If new models are coming soon the current ones will probably be reduced in price. you probably also don't need the accessories that are sold here and for which they charge you extra.
