is anyone else getting eye strain from their e-reader?

I love my new kindle fire, but have noticed I am getting a lot of eye strain from the LCD screen. I have cut down on the brightness, now I am wondering if I should set the print on a white back ground with black letters or a black back round with white letters. Anyone else have this problem?
