I get unknown calls on my iPhone for the last year or so.  I block the caller, and guess what -- yup, I continue to get them from the same number.  Got one yesterday as a matter of fact that I blocked.  I just now got a call from the same number.  Enlighten me as to why we have the option to block a number if the fundtion fails???

I don't know. I block many numbers on my iPhone and don't see the same number call back after being blocked. Sometimes I block through the built-in iPhone apps and sometimes I use a downloaded app, like Robokiller. The iPhone sends blocked numbers to voicemail and does not ring the phone. It doesn't even display those blocked number messages in the same section as your messages from unblocked numbers. It should work even if the number is being spoofed.

If you're a blocking number and still seeing it, you may want to take it to the Apple store or call support to speak to an Apple Genius.

Re: iPhone - Blocked Numbers

It is almost impossible to block an unknown number even though there are tutorials that say you can. I have even created a contact for "Unknown" and used the block feature and calls still get through. I have an IPhone and when I block certain numbers they go straight to voicemail.

When I check my voicemail there is a section for blocked callers and some will actually leave voicemails which turn out to be telemarketers. You may want to call your phone subscriber and see if there is another way to block unknown calls. Thinking there is a way but you may have to pay for the service.

When you go to recents you will see there is an "I" to the right of the number. Press that and scroll all the way down and block that way. It always works.
