I am thinking of getting an iPhone the end of January as my Tracfone runs out.

I will get an unlocked one so I can use a Tracfone SIM card.

I want one that is 6” one but want a decent width to it.

Thanks for any feedback.

@MKR14 , I have an iPhone XR and I really like it. It's 6", not sure how wide but there is very little border, the screen takes up almost all of the front. It doesn't have a "home" button but I found that it didn't take long to get used that and it was much quicker to get around. My advice would be go and look at the different models to check out what each offer. It helps to actually see and touch a device.

@MKR14

i'm learning new things! Had no idea it was possible to use a SIM card with an iPhone. That sounds really great.

If you want to use your phone with an Apple Pencil, I would ask to demo that first before purchasing the pencil. I have a gripe about mine...it doesn't work most of the time! What a worthless piece of technology! It is time for us to travel over to the Apple store and ask for help.

At least if I had used one first at the store, I would have known how it is supposed to work.

The screen on my iPad has stopped recognizing/working with the generic stylus I purchased at Amazon... another add to the "to do" list. So, if you like to use a stylus when using your device like I do, you might ask about this when you are visiting the store too.🍀

@LTT1, my understanding is that the Apple Pencil, both 1 & 2nd generation doesn't work on any of the iPhones only iPads, the Pro's and newer models. Most styluses are just as big as most people's finger tips, in my opinion.

The iPhone is normally sold with a carrier lock. However, if your iPhone is unlocked, you can use your iPhone with a TracFone SIM card to make and receive calls and text messages. TracFone does not offer cellular data service, so your cellular data will not work with an iPhone using a TracFone SIM card. This is the quote online.

My grandson has the Tracfone SIM card in his new iPhone and it works great. I hardly ever use data on my phone now so no problem for me. It was easy to do. This allows an iPhone to not have a contract with a carrier.

I never use an Apple Pencil so no problem on my new iPad and no problem.

It is fun to learn and there are many answers online to help you.

You can find specs for the iPhone at Phonearena.com and GSMarena.com.
