I just updated to 12.0.1.

If nothing else, saner heads prevailed and they moved the 123 button on the keyboard back to the original position.

I thought I was loosing my touch, l o l!  Then I realized they switched the two buttons!  I couldn’t imagine why they would make that change!!!

@gidgetgh, I have iPhone 6+.  I agree about new updates using up battery life.  I don’t have high phone use normally.  When I first got my iPhone, a charge lasted at least 2 days.  Now, not much more than a day.

In settings, it shows my battery at 98%.  The guy at the Apple Store told me I could get a new battery still at the reduced price til the end of the year but that I would notice little difference in performance.

Anyone believe that or are they discouraging replacement to sell new phones?  Not a cynic by nature but this wouldn’t be the first time they did something like this.  LM

@Lilysmom

I have an iPhone 6 and recently had the battery replaced. I forget what the battery health was - 80 something. It is 100% now but I have not noticed any improvement at all in a few apps that were slow so maybe the problem is the apps?

I havd not updated to iOS 12. I’ll wait a bit longer to be sure it would not be a mistake. It was an update to my iPhone 4S that ruined it & forced me to buy this phone.

I have an iPad Air 2.  I updated to 12 and then 12.01 two days ago.  It has had a chance to reorganize itself.  Battery use is I would guess at least 20% higher.  I have the most recent iOS on my new iPhone Xs . Don’t have anything to compare it to.  But the new iOS definitely uses more juice on my iPad.  Hopefully they can make adjustments in future updates.

@willdob3, there are about 4-5 apps that I can’t  use anymore because they have not been updated to IOS 11 I think.  Like you, I am holding off on installing 12.  LM

not sure about the battery life, but I can’t keep the keyboard on my screen like I could before.  I have to hold the iPad completely vertical to type and it’s killing my arms.  This is forcing me to buy a laptop now.  This is my last IPad.

            @Blingqueen023,  I don't completely understand what's happening...  I've been using iPads and iPhones for years and haven't heard this complaint.    (Not saying it isn't happening -- what I mean is that this is something new to me.)   I tried looking online, quickly, and found a few comments that might be related.   Did you ever pair your iPad with any Bluetooth devices, a keyboard in particular?   It appears that sometimes if a keyboard is listed in your Bluetooth devices the iPad might try to search for that and in the process remove the virtual keyboard from your screen.  I hope you won't abandon the iPad...  there might be a simple fix.

@dooBdoo My cover has a keyboard but I never use it.  My iPhone keyboard took well to the new update.  I don’t have any problems with that.   I’ll have to go back through my settings.   I really want this fixed considering I paid 1100 dollars for this iPad Pro.  I’ll have to go through my Bluetooth devices.   Thanks so much for responding.

           I like the changes with iOS 12.0.1 on my iPad 6.   As other have said, the new software has to reindex, reorganize, that sort of thing, for a few days.   Also, it helps to sync/backup the device and recharge it a few times to get more efficiency.

            There are other things to check, too.

            Here are a couple of articles that might be helpful, with some specific tips if the battery still seems to be going south too quickly (please copy and paste links).

            Also, an internet search will get many other results with articles to help out.

            You're welcome, @Blingqueen023. 😊 I do hope you find an easy solution.   If it's not a Bluetooth issue, you might want to give Apple a call (or use their online chat service) and see what they think.   I'm a long-time fan of Apple products, and I have my fingers crossed that you'll get the answer soon.

@dooBdoo  Thanks   I’m also a huge fan of Apple.  They’re the best.  I have 3 IPads that are still running, plus an IPhone.  Love all of them.  Thanks for the tip of the live chat.  I’ve always liked that feature.   Enjoy the day today.   Make it a safe one.
