That's only about 3-1/2 years from now. 

The not getting updates can be a benefit in some cases. If your Chromebook is using an older version of Chrome, odds are the issues with it were found and fixed, while newer versions often have unfound issues. Hackers start probing away at any new release. If there is a previously unfound issue in the older software that's uncovered later, you can be at risk, but often the risk of trouble is higher with the brand new downloads.
