? abour restoring your computer back to a certain date....Please

If I restore a computer back before downloading a program, will it take the program off?

I want to take it off actually, but it won't let me. It's was a free program and now it won't let me take it off. It isn't a virus, it was AVG virus scan, but it didn't download right and now won't let me take it off.
