Windows 8 Question

I have a new Acer laptop with Windows 8 and touchscreen. I'm liking it really well so far, except for one thing: every so often the screen is replaced with the Amazon app that seems to come out of nowhere (I'm not pressing any keys other than the ones I'm using to type), and it's a PITA to keep swiping the screen to try to get rid of it.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to make it stop doing that? TIA
