always sound so sharp and tinny?

Re: When streaming TV, does it...

My streaming sounds great because we bought a sound bar ( $150 and up).

Mine sounds great without a sound bar.  I don't know if it matters but I use Roku.

@Zhills , I don't have any problems with sound while streaming. My sound is the same whether streaming any platform or over the air.

Is there a particular streaming service or channel that's a problem or is it everything?

Re: When streaming TV, does it...

If anything, I get better sound streaming. Granted I have a 5.1 home theater setup with good speakers and a good home theater receiver. In general, picture and sound quality will be worse over cable as they compress both audio and video to lower the amount of data they need to transmit.

I stream everything and nothing sounds sharp and tinny.

It could be your tv speaker. Check the settings to be sure they are correct for what you're watching.

There are some low quality streaming networks that sound a little off or have lower quality picture. Maybe Q is one of those. I don't stream Q so don't know for sure but it wouldn't surprise me.

I haven't noticed any diffference in sound when streaming.  But I do my streaming thru Comcast's DVR boxes.

@Zhills.  My streaming audio is not shill or tinny at all.   You should be able to adjust the quality of the audio on your TV.

@Zhills    our tv sound and our surround system sound pretty much the same from most sources

we have to crank up the volume only on the cbs network that appears to be a network issue here
