@Tinkrbl44

This maybe a problem with a change in a permission setting in the browser and Windows.

If you use Edge as your default browser, go into the settings and change to Chrome.

A member suggested restore point.

HP has an excellent customer help forum.

@Tinkrbl44 How is this for obscure....i did the same thing and this a.m.. my computer went directly to edge.  I kept turning off the commputer....had to turn off about three times and then, my chrome browser became available.  See what happens for you...I have a Dell Computer and use chrome as my browser.  Must have hit the wrong key when I turned off the computer last night.  PS make sure you have downloaded the Chrome browser.  when all else fails that it to the geniuses at Best By and pray you get someone who understands.

@tobes  I have heard that if you have more than one browser on your computer one of them will try outdo the other.  Especially where Edge is concerned.  I have three separate browsers on my computer and they want to out launch each other.  I kid you not.  This is particulary true, If I click into something that requires opening a new window or tab.  I immediately close the browser that jumped the line and relaunch the one I'm using.

I've done this so many times you wouldn't believe.  It's called the browser wars.  There is some information the web about it.  It was kind of freaking me out when it happened, but now that I know what it is, I just push back.  I will use what I want.

@gertrudecloset good to know...dueling browsers.  This may be what happened to me, although I never launched edge on my computer...just perhaps microsoft's refresh.

Well, here's a twist ...

I read every post (thank you all) and tried a couple things with no success.  I was beginning to think I would just do some things in Edge and other things in Chrome.

This morning, on a lark, I tried the couple things I'd been having trouble with on Edge .... and everything worked as it should.

Maybe it was an Edge or Microsoft glitch that finally got fixed?   Well, I'm not complaining, just still not sure if I triggered this, or the software had a problem.

Thanks to all who responded ....  Woman Happy
