I have been "researching" FS.  I have a 2 yr contract w/my cable co, so I have plenty of time to "take my time."  So far, I have learned that at this time, you cannot "jailbreak" Roku FS *yet.*  From my understanding, it's because it has more FREE apps than the Amazon FS & is far better regarding its ease of use & especially its user friendly interface.

It's easier if you read about what JB is than me telling it.

The difficulty factor depends on how tech savy you are.  The easiest instructions w/visual aids I found for the **current FS generation**......

You can check w/your local Best Buy Geek Squad.  The ones in my area will do it for you "on the side"  if you purchased a FS from the store.  Jailbreaking is NOT advertised.

@Mz iMac, I will read this, I’m not tech savvy so I don’t have much hope for myself! I bought the stick from Amazon, I have an Amazon VISA Card and have accrued rewards points, so I used some on the purchase.

That article was the best one I found for how to jailbreak the current generation FS because it is very detailed and provides pictures for each step.

I did not care for the YouTube tutorials.  They were too complicated for my taste & I am somewhat tech savvy.  I prefer detailed instructions w/pictures to back up each step.

The majority of my neighbors did what you did....use their Amazon rewards to get free subscriptions.  The others used the Geek Squad or have Rokus as well as Apple TVs.
