We are new to modern phones. Got the set of Motorola phones. Hubby called them to have minutes transferred and got new pin numbers. Phone will not accept it. Phone is activated. Are we doing something wrong?

I have a Moto TracFone.  Never had to call to get pin numbers or have minutes transferred.  It did it automatically.  Have no idea what your problem might be.

Re: Trouble connecting tracfone

@frenchie  I doubt you're doing anythig wrong. Tracfone used to be simple to use and navigate, but in my experience it no longer is. Transferring minutes was a nightmare for me and I never did get all I was supposed to have, but after three attempts simply took what I got and gave up. Moreoever, them sending me a confirmation number to prove who I was, which I've had to endure more than once, also was a royal pain in the neck. I'm leaning toward going with a real provider next time my year of service runs out. You might try a live chat with them instead of a phone call.

I bought my phones from QVC not them. Please tell me what I should be seeing on the screen. I just see the time and date. We are new to this. I am using a Kindle right now. I thought it would be the same. This will be hard since I can't hear. Cells are just for emergencies for us. We had a flip phone before. Not liking this. I hope one of our kids visits soon. We need help.

Re: Trouble connecting tracfone

Whenever I get a new Trac Fone, I think it's easier to activate the phone online rather calling.  Not sure what you mean by pin number.  If you have minutes that should have transferred and did not, then I guess you have to deal with customer service.

Re: Trouble connecting tracfone

I bought a Samsung trac fone from QVC and when I went to set it up I could not transfer anything from my  LG phone. Tracfone said it wasn't compatible.

I am assuming from your questions, this is your 1st TracFone. If so, you do not need to be concerned about "carry over minutes etc."

I now see you said hubby called to "transfer minutes". A person does not call "to transfer minutes", you have to first ACTIVATE THE NEW PHONE(S). You cannot transfer minutes UNTIL You ACTIVATE the new phone(s). For that you DO NOT need a PIN NUMBER.

Now read what I typed below.

******************************

In the box with your phone(s) is a Red Card. On it are 2 numbers that you need to activate the phone.

1 of the numbers is the phones Serial Number, also called an iMEi number.

The 2nd number is your Sim Card Number.

The 2 above are all you need to Activate your phone(s). You do not need a PIN number to activate a TracFone.

If you DID NOT get these RED CARDS with your TracFones? That you take up with QVC or HSN, wherever you purchased them.

We already had a tracfone account with 1200 minutes remaining. This was a flip phone. I could have done what you said to do online. I'm the financier in this household but hubby doesn't listen after 60 years. I don't think I could handle a call to tracfone. I may have to send them back. Too bad cause I like the size of the phones, not too large.

@frenchie

I just activated my Samsung Ao3s a couple weeks ago, all online. With the Red Cards and my old Ao2s cell handy, that was all I needed. Less than 20 minutes to do it all.

60 years of not listening? Hear similar things all the time. Good luck to you,
