Has anyone gotten rid of your landline and strictly just have a tracphone to call out and receive calls in? Does it work well? I am only interested in tracphone replacement for a land line. If so ... suggesting for the tracphone to get? Thank you!

Yes, got the LG Sunset on HSN - works great - no dropped calls - I can call everywhere on it - don't have a landline.  You can add time monthly or like me, choose a monthly plan - mine runs $26 a month.

Yes, several years ago we got our first smart phones, LG Ultimate 2, and waited 2 months and then discontinued our land line, and it has been heaven.  We don't live in  a remote area so could always go to a neighbor should our phones not work in an emergency (my worry at the time) but honestly, it has been great.

We do not miss the phone ringing.  And ringing, all those robo calls, political calls, etc.  I don't even have the ringer turned on for my phone, just listen for the vibration and can always check and see if I've missed a call if I am busy.

We now each have the last TSV, LG Premier and love those even more, big screen, beautiful bright display, fast, great call quality, and fabulous camera. Don't know why we waited so long to get rid of the landline!!

Got rid of my landline long before I got my Tracphone.

I don't talk much on any phone, my hearing is not that great.

I do better with texting & messaging.

I don't miss the landline.

This is the one I purchased last year, L56VL

The camera is not a good as other phones I've owned, but those phones &  monthly plans were terribly expensive.  Otherwise, it's very reliable.

The only advice I would give you is this, be sure you always have enough minutes, etc.

Because if you are texting or talking and you run out, that's it.   Your time is up and your phone won't work.  There is no warning.

Yes, dumped the landline. But I keep a TracFone smartphone for primary use and a 2nd TracFone smartphone as backup. In fact I had a 3rd TracFone flipfone active for a while too.
There are at least half a dozen times I've been glad for the backup phone.

@tinall, sound quality varies widely on cells. 2 of my older TracFones have excellent sound, newer one is very poor.
Also, one phone has clear phone reception when I barely have a corner of the first bar. Others dont.
Since you actually make and take calls you might research that issue before you actually purchase a phone. Especially if you live in an area with geography that causes phone issues. I'm near a large lake that causes issues.
