Good morning All.

My neighbor gave me a Ring Floodlight , and am wondering if this will work with my Galaxy A23  Tracfone.

TIA

@aqua3.  All you have to do is download the Ring app.  It should work just fine.

I contacted Tracfone and was told " This particular decvice is not compatible with 5 G" and check with Google ....?

Googles info does not give me any clarity ....

Are you using your internet or cellular data? I recently helped a friend connect her new printer which only connected with 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz signal from her router.  She was on the 5 GHz signal and had to change to the other one.  Have your phone connect to the 2.4 ghz channel of your router broadcast and try again.

The Floodlight is not yet installed.... I was just questioning it before I hire someone to install it.

Thank you .

You look at the list of networks available in your area and pick the one you want.  How did you get on your network originally?  You go through settings.

Assuming you have home internet and a router with a decent signal, it should work fine. I'd take your phone to where you want to install the Ring Spotlight and check the signal strength from your router there. If your phone's getting a decent WiFi signal there, you should be okay. WiFi comes in largely two variants as 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz, or in some newer cases 6 GHz. Most routers are multiband and will emit signals in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. (Newest ones add 6 GHz). When you go to choose the network to connect the device to in setup you just want to make sure you connect to the 2.4 GHz output instead of the 5 GHz one. It's all pretty easy and if you have an issue, Ring has pretty good tech support. (Relatively speaking. A lot of tech support is useless these days.) You can look up YouTube videos of "How to install a RIng spotlight" and watch several of those to get comfortable with things.
