DH's birthday coming up.  I would like to get him a new, better tablet.  He currently has a Lenova.  Any recs.  I do not know a lot about tablets.

I know he is not interested in an iPad or Amazon Fire.

I think iPod and Amazon fire are the better tablets.  I think then, I'd get him a newer model of what he currently has.  Maybe the line has another with more features or a bigger screen.

@Allegheny

Been using the 10" HP my wife bought several years ago. It is a quad core and works fine for my use typing this, and the other few features I use via our wifi.

My DH has a Samsung. Had it for about several years since they first came out. It finally died so he bought himself a new Samsung, a little larger and he's happy as a clam with it.

Personally, I like having a keyboard instead of having to type on the keyboard that pops up on the screen, so I got myself a Dell chromebook with attached keyboard. It's larger than most tablets - 11" x 8" but it's lightweight and I like it.

Unless you buy an Apple product , they all have the same android operating system that your smart phone has.As simple to use as can be.

Thanks @hckynut for your opinion.

DH doesn't care for Mac products (I have a MacBook Pro).  I also have an Amazon Fire which he can use whenever he wants to.  I asked him and he said he doesn't need another device.  He has an HP lap top, but spends most time using the Lenova tablet while sitting in his recliner.  He has been having some problems with the Lenova.

I was thinking about Microsoft Surface.  It seems like a combination of laptop and tablet.

I watched the Q present this tablet a few days ago. It's the MS Surface Pro. If I had the money this would be the one I'd buy. It's loaded with everything. Rather expensive though...$2500

You can buy a Surface tablet for a lot less than $2500.

I'm very happy with my Samsung tab with 9.7 inch screen, got it a year ago at best buy for about $250.  I had an iPad mini before this one, didn't  much care for it.
