My hubby & I shopped around quite a while for a new big screen tv and finally bought a 47 inch LG LCD/LED tv in December. Yesterday afternoon it was working fine. I got home last night and the tv has power to it but will not turn on - the screen is just black. My hubby checked all the wires, etc. and then ended up calling number in owners manual. My hubby was given a number to call to a repair shop that apparently works on LG tvs. He was told today that the problem was probably some kind of board in the tv (he said what it was I don't remember) and the service man told him this seemed to be common in this model of tv. The part has to be ordered and it will take 3-4 days to come in and then a service call will be made. What I'm wondering is should I even try & get this fixed or just go ahead and take the tv back to Sam's Club where we purchase it? Sam's has a 90 day return policy to either get another tv or receive your money back. I'm worried that this tv will get fixed but what happens if something else happens and it's after the 90 day return period? I'm leaning towards returning the tv but I thought I'd check here and see if anyone had had this problem with a brand new tv before especially this brand. Thanks.
