I always get glass screen protectors for phones and tablets. I think they would seal out any moisture.

I have put a new battery in an iPad so I have taken it apart and have seen how they are put together on the inside. The screen is difficult to get to. All of the components inside of the iPad cover up the inside back of the unit.
There is no way moisture could get inside of an iPad unless it was imursed in water or some other liquid. The back is not easily removable; you would have to break the seal, then buy a new one to put the back on again.
The only way that I can see liquid getting inside would be through the ports or through the on/off buttons. Trust me when I tell you that an iPad is sealed very well....not like a phone at all.
I agree to placing the iPad in a bag of rice until the moisture is gone. There shouldn't be very much inside at all, unless your cleaning lady dropped it into a vat of liquid or purposely sprayed something into the port openings.
I am not saying moisture can't get inside, but it is not easy for this to happen if the iPad gets a quick spritz or gets wet then whiped clean immediately.

@SouthernBee : Why don't you take it to one of the phone/tablet shops, have the screen taken off to, checked and reassembled?

XX- Good news- Appreciate everyone help. Today, went to our Apple certified center. Apple Care good until 5/8/20. I have the OTTER defender case. They said too early to determine if anything was absorbed into the IPAD ports. System check indicates everything running good just needed to do updated iCloud back up. The liquid looked like only under the screen protector cover and not the iPad screen. Oh what a Blessing ! Southern Bee
