@Mistreatedbycs The phone is land line thru Spectrum. When our internet is down, we have no phone.

Spectrum has a support service line and I'm sure if you call them they can answer your question since you are a customer.

I'm just thinking out loud, I would think you would need some kind of device to get the phone to "talk to" the TV.  You have a connection from the phone into the internet and you need something to take that connection to your TV.

@Mistreatedbycs  I should have their number on speed dial...we have had nothing but trouble since we bought the new smart tv and switched to streaming.  They have had to put in 3 new modem and routers....they first two were junk, kept dropping the internet.  Now they are going to bury a new cable line to the house.

Then yesterday when they were at the house for the service call, he made some changes to the tv on the back porch and hooked up a cable that we don't know why..we had no problems with that tv as we still use a cable box for watching tv.

He forgot to tell us what he did and why..he was here for two hours and I think was in a rush to leave.  We just discovered the added cable this morning.

Spectrum is the only internet company around or I would switch.

@Caffeina   Thanks, I'll take a look, I did try finding something on line but all answers were related to using the cable box, not streaming.

You need to have the cable company's phone service for it to show on the TV screen.

I would suppose the digital phone has connection to the cable service and when you're not using the cable service while streaming- the caller id ceases to function.

Not the tv's fault.
