We have it in the house, Lilysmom. I remember looking it up on the internet when we first got it to see what was involved in putting it in your car. I remember reading that if you wanted it done right, have it put in by a professional. That was about three years ago though.
There are always people around who know how to tinker with cars, but I ended up not putting it in my car. Good luck!

I went to Best Buy & bought the radio & car kit set up & they installed it. Took them about an hour.

Thanks for the feedback. Because of my subscription, Sirius has offered us a radio package. I assume they will send it to us for installation. Has anyone done this?

I used my iPhone App while I was waiting for the parts to come for my car. Worked fine. I just plugged the iPhone in so I didn't use up the battery.

We had Sirius/XM in a car that had a cassette player. A device gets inserted into the cassette player opening, you have a small device that displays and selects the channels that has to sit somewhere in the car. A sensor has to be mounted on the outside of the car to receive the signal (it's small) and the wires are run under the vinyl window moldings. And a wire goes into a power outlet (like a cigarette lighter). Our 25 year old son installed it and it worked great. There are lots of wires but they can be hidden.
We tried the installation using an unused radio channel but in this area it's hard to find any unused frequencies and the reception was poor so the cassette player option was better for us with that car.

Ok thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a Best Buy or Toyota install for us. Jack and Jerzee, what is the iPhone App thing? LM

Lilysmom: I have the App as part of my package, I downloaded the app through iTunes if I remember correctly. Here's a link that has all the detailed information about the various packages. I have the All Access Package.
