SD card for Kindle Fire tablet

Have you ever installed an SD card in your Kindle fire?  I use my Kindle for everything and the storage is running out.  I have a nice new HD chromebook and rarely look at it.  Kindle is my go to.

Re: SD card for Kindle Fire tablet

@MoJoV.  The SD card are a mystery to me.  I've installed them in an Amazon Fire and two Samsung tablets and they've never worked.  I assume there's something you're supposed to do after it's inserted but no one or no where ever says what.

Are you sure the Kindle has an expandable memory?

Anyone know what to do to get them operational?

@Kachina624  It is expandable because it has the slot for SD.  I looked at some reviews on Amazon. Some said they made sure the new  card was empty some way.  Cards are inexpensive so I might give it go and probably fail.😏

Thank you for replying.

@MoJoV , I know that Brett said that the best time to install a micro sd card was when you are first setting it up. I'm pretty sure that he said after setting up your Fire tablet, to shut it down, insert the sd card, then turn your device back on and it should walk you through it. He's only got one presentation at 4EST and will probably mention it again. You might view the view the video and it might be on there.

@MoJoV  Check Amazon's forums as well as YouTube's tutorials.

@Kachina624  You too.

At this point the only thing you can do is to move your data like photos and documents to the SD card to free up hard drive space for the device to use.  The tablet, computer or phone doesn't automatically start using the SD card for storage or memory.
