Has anybody here bought a new router lately?
I think I need new one as I have Lynksis that needs to be replaced,
too many on Amazon to sift through although I put a couple in my cart.
Love to hear what others have bought

If you have Optimum call them they now offer a free high speed router.

i recently bought a Netgear AC1750 R6300 router and it has good strength. we really needed a stronger router because we have a rancher and were getting some dead spots.....and we have multiple users.

I brought a Netgear 4300 in April 2013. It runs very well. I use this router with a laptop, Internet radio, wireless printer, and a few tablets. I forgot my cell phone. It is a dual band product. It runs in 2.4 , and 5.8 GHZ. It took about 20 minutes to set up. You may want to read reviews on Amazon. The price is the same in most big box stores.

I have Xfinity and only have internet and cable service. I have Verizon landline for my phone. I brought my own cable modem, and of course my wireless router. Today, if I leased equipment from Comcast, I would have one unit. a combo wireless router and cable modem. This equipment would probably not work as well as my own. It would have a single band wireless router, 2.4GHZ, not a dual band.

You may want to do a speedtest http://optimum.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2295

I bought the Netgear Nighthawk R7000. Wanted more range for using WiFi outside. Also, it lets you choose a port number for emailing logs and notifications. Many other routers only use port 25 as a default, which doesn't work with Comcast.

Thanks guys
will look at those options
I have done the speed tests, it could be better, but I don't want to give the cable company anymore money for more speed.
