Re: Retired, but PT job says I need Cell Phone w/..?

Maybe get another phone which meets the requirements of the job.  Designate it as the "work" phone and use as a deduction on your taxes.

BTW, I really don't like this Tracfone I bought last year.  I don't find it user-friendly and the screen is too small.  I'll definitely have to get another fone if I get the job.  (But it can't be an Apple.)

If you want an awesome inexpensive phone with a big screen, you might look at Amazon's unlocked Blu (brand) phone.  If you are an Amazon Prime customer, you can get it for $50 or $60 depends on how much storage you want.  That is the price if you get the version with ads which don't bother a thing!

Then you can use Straighttalk's service for cheap monthly service.  Unlimited talk, text and 5 GB  of data.  You can get a cheaper plan for $30 also which is 1,000 text and 1,000 minutes and some data (can't remember how much).

My friend bought this phone and he loves it!

Thanks for the info.  I just looked up the fone I bot on HSN last Xmas and it's 4.5".  Too small for sure!  Last thing I need is to wreck my car while trying to read a mini-screen.

It's actually very common for independent contractors to provide their own equipment...

Okay, so, I'm NOT going to get this job.  I just don't have the tech savvy.  I couldn't get into the Webex room for the information session AND I can't FIND the app I downloaded to my fone yesterday.

Sick of the frustration.

I give up!

Re: Retired, but PT job says I need Cell Phone w/..?

@MothertruckerI think so, too.  Further, if someone is on the road providing in-home PT, schedules can change several times during the day for a variety of reasons.

Also, most of the PT's I'm familiar with get their schedules via phone rather than by going into a central office.  Can't imagine those phones are provided them.

I have several friends currently getting in-home rehab.  Will ask!  Now I'm curious.

It's not against the law in your state to use a cell phone while driving? Smiley Surprised
