Question About Kaspersky 2017 Anti Virus Software

Let me just state I'm not too tech savvy. I guess my Kaspersky Anti Virus software downloaded the 2017 version. With it though I now have something called Kaspersky Secure Connection. It has something to do with making sure websites you go to are secure. I use Google Chrome as my web browser. I'm starting to think they are not compatible. Sometimes when I try to visit a website (never had trouble before) I get this blue page that states I have no wifi connection (I definitely do). If this is causing me problems, do I really need  the Secure Connection,should I uninstall that part of the software? I would appreciate any help!

You might call the Kaspersky company. I just downloaded the software the other day for 2017 and I have had no problems. I use Google Chrome to.

Re: Question About Kaspersky 2017 Anti Virus Software

We are having similar issues.  We have Kaspersky 2017 as well.  Our contract was renewed in October 2016.  I never noticed until about a month ago the their was a new icon for the Kaspersky Secure Internet Connection in addition to the anti virus icon.  I don't know what the heck it's all about but we get pop ups telling us the connection is not secure and our action is required.  DH said he is going to contact hem and find out what is going on.

You should contact the company. Does this new software support your version of Windows?

@Nuttmeg, I have Windows 7. It doesn't happen all the time, I just wonder if it's necessary as I got along without it for a long time.

@Jordan2

You can go to the support forum of this software and look for answers. It might be the browser you are using. Before you make any changes, please check.

@Nuttmeg, I will look to the forum. I like Chrome and really don't want to replace it to accommodate Kaspersky.

This is why I don't like many antivirus programs.  Get into the program settings and see if there is an option to uncheck or otherwise stop the secure connection portion of the program.  Go to the menu at the top of the screen , select the program's name then preference.  Look through the list of options and see what's there.  The next place to look would be under tools.  Once again, look at all of the options and see if you can uncheck secure connection.
