I did my research before I bought my computer from QVC I went to the stores I checked Dell and HP websites. I read articles then I called my cousin who worked for IBM for over 20 years I told him the computer I was interested in and my price range he checked around and the specs he said it was a good deal on QVC and I trust my cousin. Why should it matter if people shop for electronics on QVC it's there choice and if they need the ez pay I see nothing wrong with it.

Because they buy old technology to get EZ pay. You may think your relative is great but that doesn't impress me.

I agree. Great that the computer is working for her, but overall, I'd guess EP pulls in a lot of computer customers, as well as the convenience of sitting on one's duff instead of going out and looking for better computer deals that can be had just about anywhere... It's always nice to get an 'expert' opinion, but there are experts and then there are experts... Each to their own, but I'll stick with my opinion too, which is QVC is not the place I want to buy a computer and Dell isn't my brand of choice... And for what it's worth, I also completely agree about vents on laptops... They call it a laptop, implying it's going to sit on your lap and so what sense does it make to vent the bottom...? None.

Hi, autumnsunset! I wasn't directing my comments to you. However, as I said many companies also allow interest-free payments, and some have free shipping.

Often the direct customer support is better (QVC simply doesn't have the customer service they once did), and for some it's helpful to have the support at a local store... not to mention the value of supporting local business.

And the fact remains, QVC is demonstrating a significant problem getting products shipped in a timely manner. But, in the end, it's definitely the customer's choice.

Re: QVC problem with Dell computers

I think QVC has excellent customer service. That's why I like shopping here but I support my stores in my area too if the deals are there. QVC just had a better deal on a computer for me. My cousin said it was a good deal and I did ask him if the spec was old technology because I know nothing about computers he said no it was all new.

Frustrating that Dell/QVC ordering is so problematic. The QVC channel/info does a great job advertising. Wish their delivery/customer service matched. After research & consideration time of these computers Dell or QVC can't fulfill orders or has you order and then cancels without contacting customer. Had to cancel credit card authorization with QVC to prevent being billed for cancelled computer--additional hassle. But better safe than sorry. Deals look good but lots of complaints on Dell/QVC reviews. Unsure how good a Dell/QVC deal actually is when ordering/actual delivery is problematic.

Anyone have experience with arrival of malfunctioning DELL laptops & how QVC return policies actually play out? Is the 30 days from arrival or order date (Dell takes about 30 days to ship after order date--is this a problem?)?

Are you the OP too?

No, I am an Obstetrician (MD/PhD). Recent QVC customer. And yes The DELL Intel i7 computer for my office was cancelled after being billed to credit card. I agree that Dell/QVC seems to have problems on their actually fulfillment of orders. My time is precious & the research time into replacement computers is precious. The QVC option & order commitment precluded other options which were no longer available at the time of QVC/Dell cancellation. So that makes the order process with QVC problematic as actual delivery of orders appears questionable.
