(I wondered why someone was saying a brand new iPad was only $329!)  

I do wish the mods would lock threads after a certain length of time, so this didn't keep happening.

Some folks can not even afford to do that.... There is rent .. food  and other bills.  That is why a more inexpensive device is the way to go.

That doesn't pass Math 101.  If you can pay a payment every month, you can save that amount every month until you can pay for it in full.  We had layaway when I was young and many people took advanatage of it.  The big difference, the item stayed at the store until you paid for it in full.

Fireplace screensavers have been around for a long long time.  I'm sure they are on the Apple Store.  I just opened YT to play one.  Back in the mid 90s, I had a VHS of a real fireplace.  Here is a screenshot from the Android Play Store

I think it by the wayside when credit cards became available.  It really is a smarter way for people unable to pay in full.
