I have never known easy pay to be an issue if you have a credit card. Debit cards are a different animal am I told. I have never used one, so I can't speak to that experience. Sometimes if you have not had a card long enough, they can deny you.
Until last year I thought easy pay had to do with the credit card company. But now I know it is a dept that QVC runs. All those easy pay items are funded by QVC.I think they include their "fee" in the price, because it is usually (but not always) costs more than the same item can be purchased else where They do the billing and the leg work. I have had my card changed 2 times in the last 8 months, I am always having to notify companies, I hate it. But if it bounces back, for whatever reason it costs the company money. Nothing is due on the same day for each person. Because each customer can purchase on a different day. WOW! and thousands and thousands of easy pays.

On 1/27/2014 happy housewife said:This is incorrect information. You only need to have the minimum payment available as funds. There has been once or twice that I've had to do an ez pay at the end of the month when funds were low in my accounts (debit card on file) ...needed a computer because mine fried and didn't have $1200 available to purchase outright. Put on ez pay and only amount on hold or even in my account was what the minimum monthly payment. OTOH, first things I ever purchased from qvc were not incredibly expensive items either...nor were the first things I ever purchased items I put on ez pay.On 1/27/2014 rysk29 said:Obviously, you are not getting it- you have to have available credit to cover the total amount of the purchase + S&H + tax before they will extend an easy pay. Not just enough for a monthly payment - enough for the whole total. They do not charge any interest but they do put a hold on your credit card acct for the TOTAL amount - not just the monthly payment. If you biy something for $1000 + $25 S&H + $70 tax you can only get it on EP if you have available credit on that credit card for $1095.That is how easy pay works.i put over 1000 a month into that account.. i believe i can cover 200 a month..

Thank you for taking me seriously.. im not trolling im just confused and frustrated
I do not take this seriously. You DO NOT need a payment history. The first purchase my daughter made was a computer on 6 easy pays, with a debit card AND no previous history (and I might add, not a high monthly salary either.) And really, to say some retailer makes you "sick"???? how mature.

Not too many years ago QVC got into trouble with buyers ordering products on EasyPay - normally electronics - and then the credit card used for the EP disappeared: the account was closed or it was some type of fraud. Often the buyer opened a QCard account and took the merchandise after one payment. So I understand the company trying to protect itself, but: the hosts continue to trumpet the virtues of EP for even first time buyers ... Much like the 30-day unconditional return policy, there are a few "buts" in the offer.

None of the original post makes sense. EasyPay is available when you use a major credit card or a QCard.
If you have a QCard, they will already have done any checking on your financial status that they need to, before issuing the card.
If you have a major credit card, the authorization for payment will either go through or it won't. EasyPay is available for all QVC shoppers, new or old.
Sorry, but we have to remember that anyone can post anything on these forums, due to the anonymity here. I don't believe this story.

Hello OP. I can neither support nor discount your post. However, I will agree that many posts have been rude. As is typical of some people, just because an experience has not been their own, they feel it necessary to snark and demean.

I have a checking account that I only use for online purchases. I keep only enough money in there to cover the debit card purchases I make and easy pay payments. As a QVC shopper since 1985, I have NEVER been asked for any type of extra verification when I placed an order, no matter the purchase price.
You do not have to have the full amount of the purchase to use easy pay, just enough to make the first ez payment + all taxes and shipping & handling. TSV computers come to mind as a time when many customers try the Q for the first time. These are always on ez pay, and there is no extra credit checks for all of these new customers.
If you ordered numerous high priced items as a first order, I am sure they would probably want more verification before sending out thousands of dollars in items. This could include a credit report check. All retailers have policies in place to prevent theft, and it looks like your purchases sent up a red flag. When they checked into your credit a little bit deeper, things must not have checked out well. Your experience is very unusual. You should probably get a copy of your credit report and see if there is a problem.
