I always do the research and I know what I need for my office work [for when I work at home] And what I want. I agree buyer beware.

I don't buy electronic products often so when I do I want the latest and greatest. Now some people don't really care and like getting a good deal, I just don't like people who don't know think this is the latest model. I also noticed an Apple MacBook (I'm not too familiar with it) but I would bet money this also isn't the latest model.
After reading this board for years, I have found it does no good to tell people they are buying old models, paying too much money for worthless accessories or they can find the device cheaper elsewhere. They want EZ pay and that trumps everything.

I think the biggest thing to recognize is that none of it is personal. It's SELLING and nothing more. They have to concentrate on, and in many cases make up, positive points and they will NEVER bring up anything that is less than a glowing positive. This is part of the reason I was never able (I tried!) to be in any position of having to sell products for somebody else. I can't do the bs it takes to push on people. Just can't!
One of my mantras, that has helped me quite a bit actually is - 'Don't personalize things that aren't personal'.
Anyway - FWIW, eh? ![]()
Secondly, of course, all that's been already said here is so true. They sell older versions, slower processors, and pad it with junk that has little to no value so they can pump up the price, attaching HUGE values to these 'extras'. I've seen them put a dollar value on programs that you can get for free! I'm not talking some kind of back-door thing - just plain straight up free programs.
I also agree with GLB that it doesn't matter how many times these truths are brought up, here or elsewhere, because people will buy the older, over-valued stuff anyway. But, hey, if one person hears it and heeds it, I guess it's worth repeating. ![]()
Nobody else is spending my money so I recognize that it's just not for me to say how they should. But it really IS hard to see people spending their hard-earned money - uh, I hate to say foolishly but I'll go with impractically.

Just assume there is a newer one out there and do some checking before you "settle." Sometimes you don't need the new features, sometimes you do.
