I read that Microsoft, who makes PCs, will not properly download any MAC photos, being an Apple product . . . I assume on purpose. So if you're using a PC product, it's not going to happen.

("Windows 8.1 for Dummies" is full of these little tidbits of information.)

What are you talking about? I seriously don't think you know.

I read it in the "Dummies" book for Windows 8.1. So if I am a "dummy," so is the book.

The book is wrong. Whether that makes you a dummy, I'm not sure. I'd return the book and get my money back.

There's no such thing as a "Mac photo."

Do you mean iPhones and iPads don't take photos?

iPhones, iPads, and any cell phone or tablet (by any company) take photos with the digital camera that is built into the device. Every picture is formatted the same, and once downloaded, can be viewed on any equipment made by any company. Its the same format if you were to take a picture with a digital camera.

It doesn't make a difference if it were a phone, tablet, or camera used to take the picture. A digital picture is a digital picture universally.

iPhoto on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac is an application that is built into the device to VIEW photos.

Edited to add - you could even scan a hard copy picture into your computer using a scanning device. That picture is now digital. It automatically was converted to digital format. That same picture can now be viewed on a computer, cell phone, and tablet.

Why should THEY have to fix it? Granted they probably will, but its not their problem to fix. Maybe they will never fix it? They have wallpaper already built into the device. Everything is fine using the provided wallpaper made available by the company.

It is the individual, selecting one of their personal photos, and using that to create a wallpaper. Thats a personal choice to customize how the device works. Well, guess what, there is an App to help you do that and you have to pay for it.

Re: Problems using ipad photos as wallpaper

How did this thread get involved with talking about Windows PC and 8.1? I think the question was about iPads and Apple and Macs. What does Windows have to do with it?

Re: Problems using ipad photos as wallpaper

Possible duplicate post ... I updated ipad software and it appears the update fixed the photo sizing issue for wallpaper use. Good news! LM

Re: Problems using ipad photos as wallpaper

I updated the other day but the wallpaper is still weird sized.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
