Can anyone provide some insight why all of a sudden I can't print. I have a MacBook Pro using latest operating system and am wirelessly connected to our HP printer. Have been connected to this printer since day one.
When I select print I get a message that printer is not connected. DH and I fiddled with this issue yesterday and thought we had fixed it. We uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. Today, same thing is occurring. I haven't updated anything recently on my MacBook. My DH is having no issues with his PC printing to this the printer.

Look at HP.com for the latest drivers. Download and install them and see if that corrects the problems.

I had the same issue - and did all kinds of fancy things - but nothing worked.
I did end up purchasing a wire (in a fog right now ...) to connect the lap top to the printer.
Good Luck.

Can you see the printer when you go into your settings?
You're not actually connecting directly to the wireless printer, you're connecting through your network. Many routers these days have multiple accounts so you can have a guest network or main network and another network to support different indivudals in the family. The printer you want to print to has to be connected to the same network as the computer you are trying to print from.
I had this happen to me when I installed a new printer and put in on a different network connection than my macbook was on. I was sure I got a bum printer. Took me a bit to figure out my mistake.
You also might just try reconnecting the printer to the network. They do occasionally get confused.

The same thing happened to me one time. I came on here and asked what to do. Someone told me I needed to reconnect the printer to the network, and it worked. Like you, I had been using that same printer with my laptop for a long time.

@Buck-i-Nana Bingo!!! That is exactly what was happening. We have our own network account set up which our printer is connected to.
I don't know how or why my MacBook was defaulting to the xfinity account. I'll have to keep an eye on it and contact Comcast if this continues. I know the last two days I have been getting these pop ups from xfinity, which I never got before. I never click anything on them. In fact I have pop ups blocked. So another challenge.
@Cookie2025 Do you happen to have Comcast?

@Allegheny - yes - I do ... errrr. I am going to re-read this thread when I am feeling better. I would prefer to have the wireless option for printing but after neighbors self-recruiting themselves to assist and investigating the issue on the Apple site ... sadly - I threw in the towel.
I appreciate all the Tech help everyone suggests. I need to go back and revisit going wireless again with the printer.
Additionally - I live in a high-rise. There are plenty of businesses surrounding the building. We also are soppose to have a Wi-Fi Xfinity account available to residents IN THE LOBBY. I had horrible problems with connecting to the Wi-fi. I contacted Comcast several times. I did as instructed and purchased a NEW Netgear Modem (Netgear brand andmodel number as suggested). I STILL HAD ISSUES connecting to MY ACCOUNT.
I had a two Comcast Technicians out to my home. The second told me he 'could not get a signal/read' on the NEW Netgear modem that was RECOMMENDED by the Comcast Rep.
Thanks for all you do.

I have had the exact same issue with my macbook since December when I purchased the hp 5663 from QVC. For almost 2 months now, I have been working with hp technicians, Apple, and Xfinity - none can keep the printer working! ARGH! I am officially done with hp printers and am working with hp on a refund! The original printer was purcahsed from QVC, but after about a month hp had me send it to them and they sent me a "replacement" - but I'm having the same issues! ARGH! If you figure anything out, let me know! Thanks!
