Power Strips for charging electronics while travelling

[ Edited ]

Does anyone have a recommendation?  Looking for smaller size with multiple charging options.  Using iPhone 15, air pods gen 2, iPad Air 9, Apple Watch 10.  Looking for a charger that does not heat up during charging process.  (Note, my research shows that wireless chargers more prone to heating up so not looking for wireless.). TIA.

Re: Power Strips for charging electronics while travelling

Any charger is going to heat up a bit. The more things you plug in at once, the more it'll heat up. I use an Adura six-port charging station (about $20) in my apartment. It works fine for me, but it can get a bit warm.

A lot depends on where you're going (different voltage and plugs may be needed in some foreign areas) and how long you'll be gone. For a day or two, you can probably get by with one or more of the larger power banks that you charge up at home before leaving. Many/most hotels now have USB ports that you can use to recharge the power bank while you sleep.

If you're taking a cruise, the cruise ship lines have rules on what kind of power adapter you can use on their ships. You can Google "Cruise-approved power strips" for more information on that.

One of the advantages of the power banks is that you can charge two items at once and you won't be using everything at once, so whatever you're not using can be charging while you use something else. I have six power banks I was using while living in my car for a bit in 2023 and they did a nice job. I'd spend one night in a hotel, charge everything, then live three days in the car and use the power banks to keep everything functional.

Check around, lot of selection out there.  You can pick size, surge protection or not, plugs for adapters or not, and a selection of types of slots.

I have bought many for the grandkids and they all seem to work.  Not really very expensive either.

You may want to look at the new Anker Prime desktop chargers.

@gardenman I will be travelling in the US for a month.  Looking for something to simplify charging.  Thanks for the suggestions.
