Please help......

I desperately need advice. My computer I suspect has a virus, and I need to install an antivirus software. First of all, which one would you all recommend? Secondly, this PC Security 2011 keeps popping up on my computer and when I read about it on the nternet, it said it was dangerous...maybe this is my problem. If I install and antivirus software will this get rid of these pop-ups?
