@NickNack By remotely do you mean wirelessly, as in via Air Print I believe it is? Check to see if there is a software update available for that Canon printer. It might need a new driver after updating the OS on your Mac. I would also look at the default settings and see what they are. I dont know much about this but there are different settings for color printing. The wrong one may be selected. Finally, I would Goggle your problem. Good Luck.
