@NickNack

I see that several here are mentioning "streaming". 1 thing you need to know is the speed of your Broadband Internet, be it DSL/Cable or Satellite.

I can tell you this from my own personal experience with Streaming. For a long time the fastest DSL speed available for our area was 1.5mbps. That was so slow you could barely Stream SD without buffering and buffering. That means your connection speed downloading cannot keep pace with you watching whatever you are Streaming? HD? Forget even trying to Stream it.

We then got increased to 5mbps speed. It could keep up with 720p Streaming just fine. 1080p? Depending on the the speed the movie was filmed, many of the shows would lead to buffering, which is like the old hour glass on a computer.

We now have 15mbps speed and I can even Stream 4k content from Netflix and Amazon Prime with no buffering at all. The more information being downloaded and transferred via Wi-Fi, or a direct Ethernet connection the faster the download speed the better.

I am not into Roku, but they certainly have a lot to offer. I am only telling you this so you can check your Internet Download speed to be sure you can Stream without the annoying, buffering.

@hckynut  Thank you for telling me this.  How would I check to know my speed?  My internet servie is through Comcast.  Would I just call them and ask, or can I find it somewhere?

@Nicknack

You can Google "download speed". There are several websites that will give you that information. You might get some different readings, but most are close enough to accurate. They give you both Download and Upload speed. I would think Comcast would show this info on your billing listing. If not, you can call them.

I would be surprised if your speed is too slow, but wanted to let check into this.
