I need a chord I can attach between an old computer and a newer to transfer all my info/documents, pictures etc.

Does the Q have one or where would I find one?

Which computer do you have, Windows (PC) or a Mac? Are you transferring from PC to Mac or vice versa?

Macs come w/their own application called Migration Assistance. No cords or cables necessary depending on which model Mac you have.

Which type of cable/cord do you need? How do you know you need one?

dh bought a in expensive portable hard disc at walmart. dh put all the info in our old xp computer onto this portable hard disc, plugged it into my brand new hp computer. all my files were transferred. no problem.

I believe this portable hard disc cost about $40.00 at walmart. we can always reuse this disc if needed for back up.

Why not use your backup?
