Bought from Q in 1994 as a Christmas gift for me from me. I recall it was over $600. The 1 CD stopped working and the radio just states "please wait".
This is the style I have but doesn't have Alexa capability:
Figures now neither QVC or HSN has it available. I recall recently it was a TSV and stated they'd no longer be available.
I know what next years holiday gift will be a new Bose. I know I could buy from Bose directly but it's $500 and right now that's not in the budget.
I absolutely love my Bose I use it all day long not tv watcher.
(Maybe I'll check after the holidays "as is" section one might be returned🤞🏻)

I bought what looks like the same Bose with changer for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. That was about 15-16 years ago. It cost around $700. My mother, age 96, still has the Bose but the changer died about 5 years after I gifted it. Then, the remote control bit the dust althoughI ordered a new one. About year ten of having the Bose, the single CD slot started acting up although I use the CD cleaner disc on my mom's Bose frequently. Now, only part of each CD I insert plays and the radio is in constant " pause" mode. It is useless to my mother. I did buy myself the Bose single player and radio about 4 years ago, but I have had other devices that cost less, have lasted forever, and required less TLC.

My mother has a BOSE and I almost bought one for my DH, but he likes to use a radio around the house in different rooms, so instead of spending a fortune I bought him a nice boom box (radio and CD) for under $75.00 about ten years ago.
It is still operating pretty well, and he enjoys its portability and its general toughness. (He sticks it outside during Halloween and plays spooky music CDs.)
I would check out the various cheap boom box options before I would ever consider spending over two thousand dollars on a fancy BOSE! (Not that the sound system might not be worth the money, but I prefer to put my dollars in items other than electronics, as their value drops quickly and drastically.)

I have the EXACT system! The radio still works but the CD player suddently died about 2 months ago. I had the 4 CD exchanger and that lasted about 8 years before that died too. No more BOSE for me. I called about my recent failure but they are no longer manufacturing the WAVE radio so no repair possible. They offered me a trade-in for $299. Same Special price as HSN then QVC. No thanks. I will look for a cheaper CD player since I have so many discs. Looking at that Studebacker...I also stream music from Amazon prime but I still like to play my discs. I do have a 2nd Bose so we'll see how long that lasts. I think it is about 8-10 years old now....

Do you realize that Bose pulled out of that business? They are selling what they have left and that's it. The only one they sell now was made almost 10 years ago and has terrible reviews because it breaks a lot. Good luck trying to get service and parts for it 5 years from now. It's already outdated technology.

No I didn't! It would not be worth fixing it. Right now I use my phone and stream music..I'm not tech savvy or I'd buy Alexa..lol

Sorry yours pooped out on ya. Not a Bose fan and when I saw the price in this picture you posted! About fell out of my recliner. I have 2 receivers I bought in the 1970's and they are still going strong.
For that much money I could set up 2 Dolby 5 Sound Systems, and have money left over. I am talking name brand equipment, not generic brands.
But I get some really like their Bose, but for me they are just way over priced run of the mill sound.
I DVR Electronics on HSN and have seen Bose a couple times in the last few months. Think one was just a Blue Tooth Speaker, and it was $299. Way out of any of my price ranges for 1 speaker.
Hope something comes up for ya,

@hckynutjohn That Bose Bluetooth speaker usually sells for about $99. I have one.
