Remember me???   I'm one of those with such LIMITED knowledge of electronics.  I need help please.

I just received theMotorola MotoG7 Optimo Maxx that I purchased from QVC.  I'm at the First Step in the instruction manual and I'm already lost!!!!

It states "Insert the SIM card with the gold contacts down.  Insert the optional microSD card (sold separately)."

There is no SIM card in my box.  I opened the tray too and there is nothing in it.  Based on the instructions I got the impression I should have a SIM card; however, I would need to purchase the optional microSD Card.

• Can the phone run without a SIM card?
• Or, do I first need to purchase one as I can't find it in the package.
• The booklet states to use "the correct size SIM card".  It has a picture of one and it's labeled "Nano SIM".
• Is that what I search for when trying to buy one for this phone?

I'm so sorry with all these questions, but I'm lost.  I'd appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you!!!

Ignore all that.  It says "you might" need to...blah, blah, blah.  The manual is written for the Motorola G7 Power, which is sold by many carriers as well as in an unlocked version.  The Optima Maxx phone is the G7 Power just renamed Optima Maxx for Tracfone and Straight Talk.  Just turn on your phone, and follow the prompts.  If you don't already have a gmail account, I would advise setting that up first on a computer or tablet.

Tracfones come with the SIM card already installed. It's a realky nice phone. I just got mine yesterday.

Please do a Google search "How to set up a Moto G7 Tracfone video.

You will find basic YouTube videos about getting started. Many wireless companies feature this phone, but getting set up is the same. 

You then need to look for longer videos about features.

My new tracfone came with the Sim card installed ( I don't have the same one as you). Also, I didn't realize I needed a Gmail account. If they mentioned that, I didn't hear it. Thank goodness I have a techy guy as a neighbor.

Do you shut this phone off every day??

I don't everyday...but about once a month i turn it off and back on.
