@spiderw I'm so sorry it happened to you before. It's such a scary, vulnerable feeling.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really do appreciate your taking the time to respond.😊💝

@cheriere I would get some software on the computer like mccafee that is supposed to safeguard against viruses if that is what is going on here. I don't have FB but seems like it can cause many issues apparently. I hope you get it figured out for her. Maybe she could watch Hulu or Netflix instead, lol.

I didn't shut it down. I don't use facebook, so I'm not even sure about how to go about doing it. She said she sent facebook messages about these videos. However, she claimed she couldn't change her password whenever she tried. Maybe she was just too rattled at the time and hit something wrong. I don't know. But for now, we're not using that computer. I'm almost afraid if she goes to get on facebook with the other laptop she has, it may get hacked too.
I haven't read the other posts so I apologize if this is a repeat. Unless the problem with Facebook is fixed, she'll have the same problems on ANY other device she uses it on! There are privacy settings that have to be done but they're hard to understand if you aren't familiar with Facebook. There are so many scams on there that if you don't have a suspicious mind, you can get in big trouble. I hate to say it but she shouldn't be on Facebook.

@cheriere Oh no! This is terrible. Thanks for the warning and I hope you and your mom can get everthing figured out and no harm is done! Good luck!

I hope you are able to fix this situation. Your bank isn't going to want to continue replacing your accounts. She will have to stop using Facebook.
Please ask your bank about extra security measures to use with your accounts.

Thank you 😊💝. If we do keep this computer I'll definitely have to get this kind of software. This weekend she's been watching Netflix.
I told her when she does go back on facebook to please NEVER watch anymore videos of strange people or places. Since I haven't used facebook in over a decade I haven't been too helpful in helping her to navigate through it.

It's not the computer. As mentioned previously, your mother needs to make her Facebook wall private so only her friends can have access to her wall.
If it remains public, then anyone in the Facebook world can post on the wall.
