@Nightowlz  I was upset that I had to go out and buy a new desktop to replace my HP that was only 6 years old and working just fine, just wouldn't do the 11 upgrade. I bought an HP Omni for under $500, but then I had to buy a new monitor because my 20 year old Dell monitor would not connect to new tower. Then grandkid had a heck of a time getting my 20 year old HP inkjet printer to work with 11. Finally have everything working, most likely just in time for Microsoft to roll out Windows 12 and tell me too bad, go buy a replacement.

This is one, of many examples, why I switched to Apple in 2013.

Re: Microsoft Extended Security Updates Windows 10

These days, it seems to me, it's wasteful to spend a lot of money on a new computer especially since they get outdated so quickly. They've become disposable/recyclable devices that have to be replaced in order to be in a secure place today.

I think I'm done buying any more Windows devices. I've been very happy with a Chromebook-PLUS. It's everything I need, secure and I didn't break the bank.

Why would changing to Apple make any difference?

They don't make their computers unusable or unsafe because of updates.  I lost count of how many Windows based computers I owned before I switched.  A new Windows operating system would be released and the computer I was using couldn't be updated.  The only gripe I have with Apple is, they discontinued their 27 inch iMac.  I love using a computer with a LARGE screen.  I'm not sure what I'll do when this one dies.

I had pruchased a new desktop six months  ago and windows 11 was on it.  Now I'm on the look out for Windows 12 (and even  Windows13)   Anyone know anything about Wndows 12?   I also want to use the Copilot.
