Glad they came out with the security patch fairly quickly! I have all but one of my computers updated. I don't know why that one computer cannot seem to get the update. I've tried several times. It's one of those Best Buy builds (never again!) that has problems with just certain updates.

Help!!! DH updated something (JAVA?) and his laptop now has Fast Clean Pro. He cannot get rid of it. Any suggestions?

ruh roh! One lesson I've learned is that, whenever I update or install anything I pay attention to each page as I go. Many updates/installs have a bunch of stuff checked, like installing something you had no intention to install, so you have to pay attention and uncheck anything you don't want installed.
I wonder if he can just do a 'system restore' to yesterday to clear out that update, then go back in and update it properly. Gail would know better than I so, hopefully, she will have some advice.
Or, you can just go to the control panel/programs, and uninstall that Fast Clean Pro thing.

Try uninstalling it through the control panel or use Malwarebytes.

Thanks, y'all!
DH ran some unknown "spyware" removal thingy that was apparently bogus. It scanned 400,000 or some odd files.
Now, he is trying to run Malwarebytes and the button to click on is not happening...
he thinks the computer may have "locked up somehow" (his wording).?
He said he tried to uninstall, but the clean pro would not uninstall... oh, dear! This is a virus that may have attached to crucial files... at least, that was the message he got.
I just read to him about the "system restore" and he will most likely try that next.

You can also look at the settings with Norton and see if you have any sites blocked. It could have blocked MSN and that's why you can't connect. It's been a very long time since I've used Norton so I can't be more specific.
Here are 2 links to download either Firefox or Chrome. Download both if you want. It never hurts to have several browsers installed in case something goes wrong with one. After one is installed, try getting to MSN.
Sorry you may have miss-read my post...
Verizon helped to get me on-line.. However I really need to get another server..
Am not sure if I should just add another? Or delete the IE one.
To add as I was browsing some sites.. Kept getting messages saying IE stopped working...
Very annoying as you can see.
Am a bit afraid to down load another browser not knowing if it will upset my present programs and everything else I normally use
Verizon Tech support did say I should get another browser...

You can go ahead and download another browser. My preference is Google Chrome, but lots of folks like Firefox as well.
I did this a couple of years ago because I got sick of IE running hitchy. IE is still installed on my computer, but I never use it.
When you choose something and download, it should ask if you want to make browser______ your default browser. Choose yes on this and you will never have to deal with IE again, unless you want to.

That's why you suddenly get that message while you are already online. On 5/3/2014 glb613 said:You're getting online or you wouldn't be posting. You can find Java in the control panel.
