On 1/5/2014 Lynnj said: Hmm, I just found this advice of warning about installing mackeeper on Mac on the apple community site. Might want to take a look at this, and do additional research. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3691
Thank you for that Lynnj, and the OP should review the info posted and make her own decision. I will say however that I have had NO PROBLEMS since installing MacKeeper almost a year ago, it has done everything it said it would. It doesn't just remove things willy nilly and it hasn't invaded anything or sent anything to anyone in my address book or that I have shared documents/info with. I don't understand the claim that it's so expensive, because it's not. I tried all the recommended freeware and it didn't do a whole lot, that include ccleaner (that might be useful to the OP however)
My only complaint, if there was one, would be the regular offers of big savings on other programs. Then again, I get those from just about anything I have ever registered, so it's not unique to MacKeeper.
