Re: MAC OSCatalina Is Here!!!

@LilysmomOK.  There was no new print driver for the Brother DCP-7065dn Laser Printer.  The "old"one carried over and worked fine.

However, there was a new scanner driver that totally changed how you do scanning.  The old Brother "Control Center" was replaced by "Image Capture" that apparently was part of the Catalina download.  You'll find it in your "Applications" folder.  There were some printed instructions on scanning using Image Capture on the Brother website.  If you search "Scan Using Apple Image Capture", you'll find them and a list of all Brother printers that need Image Capture.  While the process is significantly different, it's relatively simple once you use it a couple of times.

The best thing for me so far about OS Catalina is the new Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  I lets me turn any form that needs to be fillied out, into one that can be filled out on the computer rather than by hand.  Really a convenience for me and anyone who has trouble writing in boxes.

@frankenfinch   You don't have AppleCare?  I also have an iMac plus AppleCare.  There is no way I will lug this thing to an Apple Store.  A tech will come to my house to install if I so wish.

All desktops are entitled to FREE "home repairs"  which includes upgrade installations if you have AC.

No, I didn't buy AC. It was a bit bulky hauling it down but there was another imac getting serviced at the Genius Bar so I didn't feel out of place. And this is only the second time I've had to lug it down to Apple in the 6 yrs I've owned it. Service was free and fast. Can't complain.

@Cats3000 , I updated my drivers and firmware before I did system updates on  MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone.  Every seems to be working finešŸ¤ž.  LM
