My hubby surprised me with a Kindle Oasis for Mother's Day and I absolutely adore it! I'm a voracious reader who has had a several Kindles (Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Basic, Paperwhite) but this one is my favorite by far. It's feather light and the cover doesn't add much weight. It's super responsive and the lighting is a lot more even than on my Paperwhite.

I'm definitely a Kindle Fan Girl so the price wasn't a huge issue for me as much as I read. My Paperwhite was the first one released and if I had a Voyage, I might not feel as strogly since I understand they are very similar in the way they operate. It's much more responsive than my PW and a lot lighter so it's a winner in my book.

If you read a lot and can afford it or need a device upgrade, I say get a Kindle Oasis!

I have 4 Kindles. I have tried to justify getting the Oasis as I like new toys. Smiley Happy But the price is ridiculous, considering it's really not much of an upgrade from my Voyage. I'm going to pass on the Oasis. Glad to hear you're pleased with yours.

What a lovely gift! I don't see buying one for myself anytime soon, though. The Kindle Oasis is much too expensive for the upgrades it offers.

I would recommend a newer Paperwhite or a Voyage to anyone in the market for an ereader. I have a Kindle Keyboard, a second Gen Paperwhite, and a Voyage. The upgrades on the Oasis are just not enough for me to justify spending $90 more than I would on a Voyage. I like that the case offers more battery power, but I carry a powerful spare battery in my handbag that charges a Kindle, any mobile phone, my camera, my Bluetooth speaker and any tablet on the market. I don't need a case that charges my Kindle and nothing else.

That was a nice gift from your DH.  I'm not yet ready to buy another e-reader.  I have the Kindle Keyboard, the Fire 7, and the Kindle HDX 8.9.  My go-to-reader is and always has been the Keyboard.  I can easily read with one hand because it is comfortable and the right size for me.  It does not have a back-light, so when my Keyboard dies and goes to Kindle Heaven, I will probably get the Voyage, but I don't want to pay $200 for one right now.

I didn't get the Voyage because I was happy with my Paperwhite even though it is first generation, but I've heard great things about it. I think the Kindle Keyboard has always been my sentimental favorite because it was my first one. I was sad when it finally died.

I've had some wrist issues and the PW has gotten painful for me to hold for long periods of time so I appreciate how light the Oasis is and the speed the display flips around  when I switch hands. Best Mother's Day gift in a long time!

I almost picked up a Voyage at Christmas but decided against it since my PW was still working fine. What a great device!

I've been having some wrist issues so the weight of my PW has bcome a bit of a problem when reading for long periods of time.  The Oasis is a great choice for me for a number of reasons but I don't know how you can go wrong with any of the Kindle options if you love to read.

I've enjoyed my Kindle journey: Kindle Keyboard to Kindle Touch to Kindle Basic to Kindle Paperwhite to Kindle Oasis with a couple of Kindle Fires thrown in. I've loved every device and so has every Kindle owner I know.

I'm now having some wrist issues and the PW has become uncomfortable for me to use for long periods of time. It's the first generation so I'm sure it's heavier than the current PW or Voyage. I can read for hours on the Oasis even with the cover on with no problems. Best Mother's Day gift ever!
