I currently have my phone plan with Tracfone. It has always been sufficient for my needs as I do not use it much and mostly have a phone just for an emergency and occasional use of Google Maps.
My husband has now started to borrow my phone when he's riding his bike. He's listening to music and is using up all of my data. In the past the data would last me for an entire year and majority would carry over into the next. Now, almost every month, I have to keep buying "add on" data.
Any suggestions for an inexpensive phone plan that I can purchase for my husband that comes with LOTS or unlimited data. It does not appear Tracfone has a reasonably priced plan that is a good fit for him.
Thank you!

Consumer Cellular, very reasonable. We use them for long time now, very satisfied.

@BunSnoop I can't speak from experience, hopefully someone here will know about this because I'm curious too. Mint mobile advertises very inexpensive unlimited data and talk plans. I've even considered getting this myself. From what I understand, they have no physical stores. Everything is done online or through the mail I'm guessing. But they claim to be less than $20 a month I believe.

How about a small pocket radio? Or downloading music before the bikeride from the internet and then listen on the ride? ![]()

believe it orn not, my BF still uses an MP 3 player for his music rather than his phone.

happy with T Mobile. Unlimited talk, txt and data under $69/month guaranteed never to increase. We got this plan years ago. Check them out they may have something similar now. My husband streams data 24/7 so we have to have unlimited. I use almost none but I do tons of texting which he doesn't do at all.

Tracfone is great as long as you don't use much mobile data. When you use a lot of mobile data, Tracfone makes their money. They ridiculously overprice their mobile data relative to everyone else. And be careful with"unlimited" data as most providers of it still have limits of some sort. They'll typically give you a certain amount at full speed then start limiting the speed downward to a point where it's nearly unusable. It's unlimited, just often unusable once you pass a preset limit.
The best option I found while researching it a while back was Visible. It's around $25 a month for their basic plan.

Yes, it's definitely time to become a two phone family. LOL
I don't know what ever else you have but I get emails all the time from Spectrum urging us to sign up for their wonderful mobile plan with huge discounts. Maybe it would work for you?

I switched from Verizon to Mint about 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. I pay $15 a month for a 5 GB plan - never used close to the entire 5 GB. I pay for the year in full (so no monthly bills)! Coverage is good - haven't had any issues!
