My LePan tablet, which is nearly 2 yrs old has completely frozen.  It won't turn off or take a charge.  It has served my simple needs well since I got it.  Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to get it working again?  I am considering getting another one since it is still being offered at a very reasonable price.  I am concerned about not being able to return the original to factory settings to remove any personal information.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tablet finally shut down because the battery was completely depleted.  Now it is charging and seems to be working.  Crises averted--at least temporarily!  I'm still open to suggestions for future malfunctions, folks.

My lePan has frozen a few times.  To restart it, I hold down on the power button and the volume button (right side) at the same time until it restarts.  That trick has always worked.  I've had mine a year and a half, and other than the freezing snafu, it has been a good one.  If it died tomorrow, I have gotten my money's worth out of it.  That being said, I highly advise not buying a new one.  The OS is OLD...Jelly Bean 4.3.  An OS that old can be a security risk and some apps won't work with it.  If they ever come out with a new one one with an updated OS, I will probably buy it.  I have quite the collection of tablets and use them in different ways.

Thanks for the suggestion.  In the past when it has frozen, it would unfreeze on its own, and I didn't really have to do anything.  Like you, I feel that I have gotten my money's worth and appreciate the advice not to purchase the same model. I do have a Hisense tablet that I can boot up, but it's a 7".  That extra inch makes a big difference.

@neetsPA I use my LePan more than any other device i have, and i have more than several! Mine has frozen, too, just a couple of times and here is the fix:

Go to your kitchen and get one of those wooden toothpicks that are pointed on both ends. Flip over your LePan and find the tiny hole beneath the camera lens. Briefly press the point of the toothpick (or anything same size point) into that tiny hole and it will reset the tablet - no problems!

'Hope this works for you! Such an easy fix and has worked for me every time! Good Luck!

Wow, SuesCat!  Thanks for the great tip.  Everything seems to be working now, but I will definitely try this when it happens again.

BTW the cat in your pic looks just like one I used to have.

'Glad your tablet is up and running : )

You mentioned our cats being look-a-likes ~ i try to avoid going off-topic but.. His name was Kramer, the best cat i ever had. He just showed up and adopted me in 1995 and he was the best companion i ever had, through many life changes, for all the twenty years of his life. He's now been my Angel for nearly two years and there are many days i'm still not over his passing. Take care ~ sue Heart

Edited to Add:

Whoa! Read my post and really didn't want to leave it on a sad note! Editing to add that my cat brought so much comfort, joy and happiness - and his memories still do Heart

Since we're off-topic, I recently lost my 14 yr.old Missy to cancer.  She also just kept showing up until I weakened and took her in.  Her loss is still pretty fresh, so I miss her and her antics quite a lot.  They do worm their way into our hearts.

I had the extended warranty on mine and they replaced.  It is worth a try to contact them and see what they advise.  email... support@lepan.zendesk.com
