My 1st tablet was a Nook. Not expensive but really good, better than Kindle because I added more MEMORY & it is still going strong. Just bought 10 inch Lenovo for under $200! Seems to be very good, easy, and so far reliable and most of all, FUN to use. Also, I added more memory to this as well.

Depends on what you want it for. I have 3 Kindles. I do banking, FB, email, read & play a few games. My HD has a HDMI port so I can do it all on my tv. I have the keyboard, 7" & 8.9" Fire. Class A support too. I would choose the Kindle over the Nook anyday. You don't need to add memory because you have free cloud storage.

You can get free books with the Kindles and I don't believe you can do that with the Ipad. That's the only thing I know that the Kindle does that the Ipad doesn't do.

Yes, you certainly can get free books with an iPad. As long as you download the Kindle app, you can download directly from Amazon or numerous other sites.

I'd go with an iPad, if money isn't a big issue.

I have all Apple products (IPAD2, IPHONE5, and most of the other things Apple sells). I love them all and recommend them.

That said, they aren't cheap. I just yesterday bought a KINDLE Fire something for my daughter. If she doesn't like it, she can send it back.

My guess is she'll say, "Send it back and get me an IPAD".

OH, sorry for the misinformation! Is it the Amazon movies you can't watch? I thought there was something you can't do on an Ipad. I sure could be wrong. My memory isn't good. LOL

I have a kindle fire and it does everything I want it to do. I got it for Christmas last year. I haven't had any issues with it. Can't say how or if the iPad is better.

You can watch amazon movies on the iPad, there is an app called amazon instant video which allows you to watch movies from amazon prime. Also, Apple offers a lot of free books in the iBook store app and as already mentioned you can get the amazon kindle book app and get all the free books that amazon offers!

I had the first Kindle Fire that came out. I enjoyed it until my husband bought me and ipad the next year. I haven't picked it up since. Ipad is so much better. And let me tell you. Before this I never owned or wanted and Apple product.
