Suggestions for Free Antivirus Download

My HP desktop (IE 8.1) came with six months of Webroot antivirus protection which is expiring in two days. I used Avast on my previous computer but am wondering if there are other reliable free antivirus programs that anyone might suggest. Thanks for your help.

I have Avast. I just have the basic free download. It is set to update constantly and seems to do well at blocking potential threats.

You have Windows Defender already installed and it's free. I have AVG free edition on my Windows 8.1 computer.
