Hi. Thanks for the note to backup before updating to IOS7. I did that and installed IOS7 no problem. I am finding since the update that my ipad is slower than it used to be. I have ipad 3. Did this happen to anyone else? Any advice to correct this? TIA. LM

Did you just update to iOS7.1 from iOS7 or from an even earlier version?
You can take it to an Apple store to see if they can help or to show them. You didn't say how much slower (somewhat slower, significantly, unbearably...), but it's pretty typical of a new OS to run a little more slowly on older devices because it's optimized for the latest device with the newest processor. I know one of the changes to iOS 7.1 was to help it run better on the older iPhone 4S.

Hi ChynnaBlue, thanks for the reply. I update regularly so my updates would have been current before this IOS7. I thought it was updated from IOS6 to IOS7 but if IOS7 was available before, I probably had it installed. Come to think of it, it may only be QVC.com that is slow. I will monitor that over the next few days. LM

Happy Elizabeth, that's interesting. Jackthebear, will do a search. If I find anything, will advise. Thanks for the input. LM

Hi again. It seems we have lots of company. There are many complaints about the update slowing down ipad. One suggestion was to turn off background app refresh in settings. I did that and it helped. Here is another suggestion. I haven't tried this yet so do so at your own risk... QUOTE ... iOS 7 was basically designed for the iPad. Anyway, I am here to help. What you can do to your iPad is a few things. You can try holding the home and lock button at the same time, thus restarting your iPad. Reset your iPad in Settings>General>Reset all settings. Make sure your iPad is up to date; there have been 4 updates since iOS 7 which may help you. If none of the above work, take your iPad into an Apple store and set up an appointment to help fix it....END QUOTE. You may want to google for more info. Advise any success pls! LM

Hi, Lilysmom! I'm sorry you're having problems -- I know it can be frustrating.
In general, iOS 7.1 has improved performance. I believe your quote is in reference to previous versions of iOS 7. Please, correct me if I'm wrong -- with all the good info out there, it's easy to miss something helpful. My iPad is 3rd generation and I have an iPhone 5. Both are zipping along a bit faster than before the new update.

(btw: I see reports of the Q being slow today. I see it happening on my iPad, but not on my iMac with Firefox v. 27.0.1.)
