Ipad as a replacement laptop

I know ... silly question.

My laptop is on it's way out. I do have an Ipad and was wondering if it's safe as a laptop as far as online bill paying. Is my information as safe as a laptop?

It's safer. At this stage of the tech game anyway

I know of several people who only have an iPad. I couldn't but for many, it does what they need.

Re: Ipad as a replacement laptop

It depends on how you use your laptop. I have and Ipad, PC and laptop. I love my Ipad but I would never just have that because of the small screen size and no Java ability meaning you can't open some sites completely. I think it's Java that doesn't work with Apple products. I also don't have a wireless printer so I wouldn't be able to print anything. You would need to by a keyboard you could use with it also because the one it has built in is not very speedy! I love my Ipad and would never be without it but my heavy "work" is done on the other two. Hope that helps some! Oh, I didn't see the safe part, sorry. I have never had an issue with my ipad regarding surfing the net, paying bills etc.

I like my iPad, but enjoy using a desktop computer.

Love my iPad, safer than my laptops but not as much memory and I use spreadsheets and word docs too frequently to be without my laptops and desktop.

The IPAD is better. Better security, no "bug" problems, Tech support, reliability.

Much prefer my IPad over anything that Microsoft makes. Laptops don't last long nowadays, and .i won't be wasting another dime on anything Microsoft makes. The IPad is so much better.

As you can see, different posters have different opinions. There is a "shopper's service", free at the Apple Store, that will help you compare/contrast your usage needs. I recently had a question about a purchase and received valuable, no pressure help. Presently, I think I could use a Mac with an 11" screen, or an iPad. When the time comes to make my purchase, I'll check in with the buyer's service to help me determine what's right for me.

Re: Ipad as a replacement laptop

I love my iPad, but it doesn't replace my laptop. It's much slower when I'm surfing the web.

Security can be a concern depending on where you use it. Because it's so portable, people tend to travel with their iPads. Remember that if you're using public WiFi, you should never do banking or anything else where privacy is critical. Other than that, it's just personal preference.
